As of July 15th, I have composed a bibliography of applicable literature and evaluated the WorldCat Analysis Tool for its utility in filtering out potential candidates for transfer into Special Collections. Unfortunately, the Tool does not generate item location within Mansfield Library, but after consulting with the assistant ILS administrator, we used our own OPAC, Voyager, to add a location code to the data generated by the Tool. In this way, we were able to filter out all the items already located in Special Collections and other protected areas of the library.
I am currently in the process of generating a literature review and more detailed description of my collection analysis protocol using the WC Tool and Voyager in tandem. I am also still tweaking the output from the tool and trying to whittle the final results down to meet the selection criteria that we have previously outlined.
